I'm still here
Thank you to those of you who sent nudges or IMs....
I am still here. I thought I'd locked myself out of my LJ somehow, but apparently I didn't? At any rate, here's a (very) brief overview of the last few months.
I left the Chinese place; they were exceedingly shadey and my meager checks only cashed once every couple pay periods. Plus scheduling was too difficult with nights and weekends being filled with rehearsals. I found a decent day job, working for a company that does office services. I'm a floater (not head floater), and that keeps things interesting because rarely am I at the same place longer than a few days and never longer than a week. I usually work in the city, which I simply love. Most of our sites and except for two, I really enjoy them. It's nice to have a job that's more or less fufilling, interesting, and provides me with the ability to support myself.
I did a lot of theatre over the summer: Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really reflect Up, Evita, Footloose, Beauty and the Beast. Each was a successful production in its own right. The dancing in Footloose was amazingly fun and both Footloose and Beauty sold out many nights. The applause after Be Our Guest was always incredible. Fun times. There was a ton of bonding with the cast too: The Deckhouse (Strawberry Freezes!), Sunday movie nights, Kennywood, fireworks in the parking lot on the 4th of July, dancing at Pegs, etc. It was really a great summer and the crew has become really close, which has carried over past the end of the shows.
I'm still doing some modeling, although between work and rehearsals, plus moving, it is less frequent than it was a year ago. I did a shoot in Cleveland and signed with an agency. I'm in the process of scheduling a few more shoots, hoping to make the best out of the last "useable" P-burgh weather. Fall location shoots are always so nice.
Auditions for Nutcracker were Saturday. I decided that I really missed ballet and went back to CPAC. Casting goes up tomorrow morning, and you know it's driving me crazy having to wait!
I'll try my very best to catch up with all of you.... the internet's not hooked up at home yet, but once it is I should be better about keeping up!
