Samantha Carter loves nights. She loves the feel of nights. She loves the smell of night and darkness on some distant planet. But most of all she loves the stars, that break that darkness.
You could think that she would love the nightsk y of Earth the most, but it isn't so. She finds a new sky, filled with different stars and constellations the most exciting. She has spent many of her nightly watches on an inhabitet, peaceful planet watching and studying the stars.
On Earth she doesn't see the sky very often. Yes, she does work well into the night on most days but being on Cheyenne mountain, so far underground, the sky is unreachable.
The one thing about Atlantis she loves the most is the sky. She can see the stars from her office, from her quarters and from almost any other place of the city. She isn't lonely, even when she spends the nights alone. She has the stars to keep her company.
