I am so bad at gig reports fr rlz- I am like WAS IT GOOD Y/N? OH LOOK TEH PRETTY
But TAI was amazing! And there was bonus
bluejbird !
I started the night off in Wagamama, because honestly? So delish. Then we walked along to The Garage and were all like, ugh, a line, so we sat in Nice'N Sleazy's till it was mostly gone. Once inside, I almost immediately was spotted by the super-sweet
bluejbird who did not come across as creepy at all (I may have come across as INSANE but oh well?) and I was excited! I was all HELLOOOO and also her friend Susan was very nice as well! Bandom slasher! In Glasgow! So excited!
ANYWAY, we went up the top because we've found that the balcony is where its at and we were all standing (
always_august was nearer the front) when this dude decided to make my life difficult! Then I spotted Maria, one of the girls we bonded with at Panic and she was there with Louise, and we totes noticed their spot was awesome. So me and Katie decamped there and lo, my view was unobstructed! Except when the photographer dude stood right in front of me for like a minute.
The Maine were okay- not bad, but I wouldn't watch them headline. Not yet anyways.
Then I was like WHEEE because We The Kings came on and did my two favourite of their songs: 'Skyway Avenue' and 'Check Yes Juliet'. I can't remember what else, following my pattern of 'meh song' amnesia.
THEN TAI CAME OUT AND IT WAS AWESOME AND WE LOVED THEM AND THEY LOVED US.
I think I knew it was going to fucking rock when they came out and did Neighbours right off. I liked that about them- they were so amazing, they came out, did their songs with minimum bullshit (and really in The Garage thats what you need given the curfew).
Again they made me love them more. Before Decaydance Paris I was not a fan of TAI, but they blow you away live for sure. They just have more energy live- not that the CD lacks it but the live show really shows you how its done.
Not too many songs from SANTI (no Bulls in Brooklyn, sadface) but they did Slow Down and LAX to O'Hare, which, how cool? And they played some new stuff like Summer Hair= Forever and Beware The Cougar, which for the latter was the first time they'd ever done it live.
THEN WE WENT ROUND TO THE BUSES AND STALKED THEM AND IT WAS WORTH IT BECAUSE LOOK:
YEEESSSS HE CAME OUTSIDE AND WAS SO LOVELY AND SIGNED THINGS WHO CARES IF IT WAS MIDNIGHT AND WET. I KNOW I WHINED BUT IT WAS WORTH IT ALL.
ALSO HERE ARE SOME OTHER IMPORTANT PEOPLE
(the butcher probs thinks I am nuts now but loookkkkkk)
PLZ TO BE IGNORING MY CHINS ALSO HE WAS SO LOVELY AND LOOK HOW CUTE HE IS
annnnd I'm done.
Forever The Sickest Kids on Thursday, wheee
