Character's Name: Astoria 'Rory' Persephone Greengrass
Age: 23
Birthdate: July 30, 1982
Family background: Astoria's mother died, leaving her father a widower when she was three years old. Darren Greengrass remarried a year later to Lilian Corner, young widow mother of Michael Corner. Darren and Lilian Greengrass raised both their children together as siblings. They got on well from the start at four and six years old, and were close through their years at Hogwarts and after. Michael called Astoria 'Rory' when they were little and it stuck as her nickname - only to some, though.
House in School: Slytherin
Bloodline: Pureblood - It's supposed to matter, and does to a certain extent. Astoria generally prefers pureblood society. She was raised in an generational pureblood family, and though her immediate family didn't stress the supremacy of purebloods, it was a prevalent theme in the society they kept. She has concerned thoughts about all of this though; Michael is not pureblood and is completely brilliant for all that he's a lazy bastard, and she loves him more than she could say. What does that say about pureblood supremacy propaganda? She's not figured it out yet, and generally keeps her own council. It's safer that way.
Political Views: Astoria doesn't overly concern herself with politics. They're boring. There was that one politician pictured in The Prophet that definitely knew how to dress though ... Italian make, Vestimenta. Lovely.
Appearance
Visual Representation: Rachel Leigh Cook

Psychology
Sexuality: Yes please. Men only need apply.
Personality:
Strengths & Weaknesses: Astoria is smart and saucy. She was never near the top of the Slytherin heirarchy, but she knew how to maneuver. She's generally friendly, though it may be a front. She wants to see if a person will be of any use to her - interest, power, curiosity - before she writes them off. She can be easily irritated and has a bit of a temper; it sometimes gets her into trouble. For all that she can be snobby and frivolously catty at times, Astoria is extremely devoted the people she cares about.
Habits\Quirks: A proper lady doesn't have quirks.
Likes\Dislikes: Astoria loves fashion - she's an avid collector of designer shoes and handbags. She's disdainful of unkempt men - Michael being a prime suspect - as well as fashion victims, overly cheerful people, and people that don't know their place. Not that she can put them in it, but she'd like to. She hates being alone, though it's a fear she's been working on.

Occupation: Co-Director of White Chapel Gallery in Hogsmeade with Romilda Wood.
Financial Status: Heiress. Very wealthy.
Residence: A townhouse in Holland Park, The Royal Borough of Kensington, London
History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time:
Astoria was uninvolved in the war as the Greengrass's were able to stay out of the general pureblood influx into Voldemort's camp. She graduated from Hogwarts two years after and matriculated into the wizarding world purely as a socialite. With some gentle prodding from her parents, she found herself a job.
She was the personal assistant to Rose Mallory, Editor-in-Chief of Witch Weekly, for five years and spent most of that time jet-setting with her best friend Romy Wood (before she got married) and immersing herself in the latest fashion, clothing and otherwise. Astoria has a real eye for aesthetics and what's to be the 'next big thing'.
Living with her brother, Michael Corner, for all that time, Astoria knows several of his housemates and friends. Edward Carmichael, major business mogul, asked her to be the director of an art gallery in Hogsmeade and she accepted. During most of 2005, she did both jobs at Witch Weekly and White Chapel, but just after Christmas, Astoria quit her job at the magazine.
She's hard to get to know, but Astoria holds on tightly to her closest friends and family. After a rough year of romance, or the failure of, she realized she'd become a bit of a career woman - something she'd actively tried not to be (her skills at the magazine could have netted her a much higher job than personal assistant, but she never aspired to such.). Just after Christmas of 2005, Astoria quit her job at Witch Weekly to focus on the project she'd made out of the art gallery - making it into a popular international destination - and also to make room for the people in her life that she cares about.
She recently moved out of the Penthouse, the opulently large flat she shared with her brother, to a townhome in Kensington and is now planning the reopening Valentine's Day Gala for White Chapel. The gallery is a project and Astoria will see it through, but what the future holds for her after, she doesn't know.
Astoria's visual representation is Rachel Leigh Cook.
