This *was* going to be a full con report, but having finished the vidshow review, my brain's shutting down, and so I'll save the rest for later. *g

Thanks so much for taking the time to write out your thoughts. :-) You are prodding/inspiring me to actually send some fb, even if I don't manage the whole report.
Speaking of fb, before I go any further, let me tell you that I just adored Duende in the show, and that I've watched it several times since, and it's still gorgeous and making me happy. I'm so glad when this happens -- Sisabet's QAF vids allowed me to finally get over my US/UK bitterness and come to appreciate and feel fondness for the US guys, and it was such a relief. This vid is going to be like that for me, too. I would much rather share the fannish joy than not, so this is a Very Good Thing. :-) I sent the link to T. Jonesy and she thought it was gorgeous, too. So perfectly structured.
It is a shame about Hothead. I guess that happens with some audio? I don't really understand what happens to that extra track when vids are played over a sound system. There was nothing wrong with the source audio, so it's just a weirdness. I do think it took a lot away from the vid, though.
Re: Without You I'm Nothing, I'm fascinated that some people are not responding to this as powerfully as I am/did, at least not the first time they view it. I honestly think it's the best use of effects in a vid I've ever seen, bar none. There's a lot going on there, and a lot of it's subtle -- playing with levels, saturation, and transitions with a skill that turns me on in that visual way, big time. I wish that I could lay each of the clips side-by-side with the way that clip appeared in the show, to see all the subtle changes she's made. Sisabet blows my mind.
Re: Invisible Sun and the violence, I think it's kind of funny that you respond this way to violence and gore when you are responsible for the only vid that's ever made me want to hide my eyes and run away. *g* Guess one girl's severed limb is another girl's sexualized, predatory serial killer. ;-)
Thanks for the kind things you said about my vids. {{{}}} It means a lot to hear that you liked them. There isn't actually a POV shift in Little Brother -- it's all Stuart's POV -- but I knew it would be an issue because the pronouns are all over the place. *g* That's what kept me from vidding the song for so long, until Cesca's story made it irresistible to try. Definitely not your fault that there's some confusion. *g* And I'm cool with anybody interpreting it through their own lens.
