Story #5/10, and another note for Ten In Ten!
Hey, I had one more idea: if you are doing Ten in Ten, make a series and link all your Ten In Ten stories into it in order! :D Then readers can move through all ten stories (or subscribe to your Ten In Ten updates).
And I wrote this one from scratch, too, go me! Started yesterday, finished today, to prompts from

Summary:
Finch looked considerably happier on that first early September day when the temperature never got above 70 degrees.
This was very apropos since it has been hot as hell in NYC these last two days. Thank goodness for the two massive thunderstorms today, except for the part where Hypatia does NOT like thunder. REALLY REALLY doesn't like thunder. And to make things worse, she was with a sitter for the second one: I was out at a pre-K social thing when it started storming. I dashed out in torrential rain with my tiny emergency umbrella, managed to snatch a cab, ran out through torrential rain upstairs dripping, and swooped in to rescue her from weeping before it had gotten too bad.
But conveniently I have now also discovered there is enough room for me to sit quietly with my laptop at the far end of her new big girl bed, and she will even be quiet and go to sleep. :D
Also, I think once I do the Ten In Ten (days), I may also try
jerakeen's idea of Ten In Ten (weeks). I just have so little writing energy in the evenings that I've been finding it hard to do fresh writing of daily stories, but it's been super-great for getting out these all-but-done WIPs.
How has the challenge been going for you, if you're doing it? Is it proving tough to get every day in? (I almost thought I was going to miss it last night, yikes!)
