Ha, well if we're talking actual areas of specialism, I'm afraid I can't quite picture Finch and Reese in the 17th century. (The ruffles alone, Harold would never approve.) Unless perhaps he was a natural philosopher with a love of cyphers, and John an intelligence agent betrayed by the King...?

I'm just going to say, if anyone had a prompt inspired by this and felt like tossing it my way...

While living rough, Reese wakes up after a binge of some sort, his head in a trash can, and this is the face he sees. Pre-show or new storyline AU. Lower East Side, methinks.

Well, considering that John basically owned NOTHING, I can see Finch wanting to take care of him and maybe watching and is curious to see what actually interests John (besides kneecapping thugs) and maybe the old building's architecture appeals, etc. and the next thing you know John has a loft there and no clue that he is the owner and not just a tenant. LOL
