omg, I missed you!

So my quibbles are, it is been too long without Sam and Dean for me to be 100% happy with an episode that was this much about the guest characters and had such a long intro, although the payoff when the Impala drove by with the *rock music plays* floating over was awesome. <3 Also did not want: the totally gratuitous Native American insult; wtf, seriously?

Okay, that aside, I did overall like the guest characters, much more here than in Hell House, actually, where they felt more like those intensely annoying similar geek-parody characters in Stargate SG1 whose names and episodes I am totally forgetting. Maggie was especially nice, although I do not for one second believe the same household that produced Ed produced her, different genes or no. But I did feel like they rescued Ed and Harry from caricature-dom at the end in the house, where they actually behaved like decent human beings.

And anyway, this episode would still have made me wildly happy just because Sam and Dean curse all the time! with little skulls over their mouths! Seriously, that alone. Fanfic affirmation! I bet the show writers have to edit out profanity in every episode script because it just comes out naturally.

Other awesomeness: I really loved that they faked out the typical girl getting grabbed bit and had Sam grabbed five seconds later instead <3 and Dean's "Sam? Sam! Sam! Sammyyyyy" and the whole, "Is it... cancer?"/"Shut up," bit and giving the finger to the camera, and also it made me happy to have Dean rescue Sam again. :D

Also: the bit where Dean is all: "how do you know all this?" Sam: "Cause he told me." -- just, I totally envisioned a scene where Sam was at the table and whatsisname was sitting there with his green skin and sad cadaverous eyes, next to the cake, telling Sam this long story of his Bitter Loneliness and how No One Came To His Birthday, and Sam is sitting there tied up, in the party hat, staring at the evil dead guy, with a thought bubble of "why does this happen to me?" practically visible over his head.

The haunting was kind of weird and not totally consistent. It could block doors, but Dean could break into the bomb shelter? Whatever, so not the point! The point was, Dean and Sam getting up from the floor after Corbett (?) took out the ghost and walking towards each other like they were about to have a passionate embrace, and then looking at the camera.

Oh, and as a bonus, those shots as they came out of the house, of the Impala with the gold sunrise behind it, and the twisted tree, and the creepy house, I fully expect to see in many lovely lovely vids.

"half-awesome" and "it's bizarre how y'all [y'all! that was totally a y'all!] are able to honor Corbett's memory while grossly exploiting the manner of his death, well done." and "Menudo left their dance bag behind" haha.

In conclusion (because it can't be repeated often enough): gay love will pierce through the veil of death and save the day! the show has told us so! \o/

Next week: meep, meep

On a totally separate note, I, um, seem to have gotten completely hooked on American Idol, and specifically David Cook. D: I have bought all his idol singles off itunes and I keep listening to them over and over. I, uh, might theoretically even like his old solo album.

But I am finding it extremely frustrating to feel fannish about something without being able to grab onto some way to write fanfic for it. I have all this energy that instead goes into watching youtube clips and reading gossip columns and afterwards I feel sort of like I've staggered out of a bar at 4am and all my money's gone. :/ *considers AU ideas*
