Uh, hi! Been in this general neck of the woods for 12 years now and know and love a lot of you. Also, as I said to ficbyzee (who is clearly liviapenn's sockpuppet btw), I don't think I could fake my death unless C. and I actually staged a fiery car crash and ran to switzerland under false identities.

In other news: laurashapiro has posted a really encouraging report from a ( Read more... )

That was totally a lie on Zee's part. I died heroically saving kids! From... stuff. And now I'm a zombie. AND I fight crime.

That is encouraging and great to see. I see some hope on the horizon. I definitely think what we are doing is unique and creative and deserves positive recognition so it's nice to see this.

I really do too -- I mean, if nothing else, there is safety in numbers and enough numbers out there now that I think we don't need to worry so much that we are the tallest tree on the empty plain asking to be struck by lightning.

Aw, yay! *claps* I've felt like that for a long time, and I'm so pleased that you feel comfortable doing such a thing. Because... yes! We're so ridiculously awesome! I want to show us off!

I checked out the site when AJ first posted and was impressed. I saw a little drag stuttering on playback on your LOTR vid (but I am also downloading). This looks very promising.

Yeah -- I've found the stuttering seems to be more dependent on how the site is doing. IE, if the vid is buffering fast, it will play smoothly; if it's creeping along (even if I have enough of a buffer built up), it will stutter more. But even then, generally the stuttering goes away if I wait for the whole vid to be cached and/or try it once or twice.

nods. my own vid stuttered too - but what I like is the quality of the image - it looks much better than youtube so there is an understandable tradeoff.

I borrowed some of your blurb last night as a placeholder for me. I also tested the tag feature on your LOTR vid - I could not decide how to categorize my own Supernatural vid when uploading - I selected 'other' (since music video seems linked to official MTV ones in my head). I also like the idea of using abbreviations for tagging

LOTR
SGA
SG1
FS
SPN etc

It's so very interesting to see how all the vidders handle this upload thing differently. At least you made me sign up for an account there. Not sure if I'm really gonna use it, but maybe I should... :)) Thanks for making me think.
