Revenge, SV, Clark/Lex, and also squee and recs
Okay, so I am having just about the best week ever, what with Vividcon and SGA (as cesperanza says, I did in fact squeak like a chew toy as we watched) and yahtzee63's fabulous news of fabulousness (the plan for fangirl world domination proceeds apace... *steeples fingers, nods*), and also teenygozer has done the most hilarious DVD commentary on Moving On, which is like reading the story with a snarky DC comics expert there at hand and makes me so happy.
And then today, after I stayed up until 4am marathoning Wiseguy, I went to the yuletide archive to see if there was some Sonny/Vinnie there that I might have missed before and discovered that not only was there an amazing story, there was an amazing story FOR ME. No, I mean, LITERALLY, it had my name on it. merricatk apparently wrote this, Not Exactly What I Had In Mind, for a New Years Resolutions 2005 prompt of mine, and I did not find out about it until just now, when I went and suddenly discovered it! This is really a small fannish miracle to me; I was wandering in the wilderness and I raised up my voice for a story, for THIS story, and I went unto Yuletide and LO, THERE IT WAS, and it was good. ♥ Also, she has a heap of more lovely lovely Wiseguy stories on her website, yay, coded up by killabeez.
And also, new story, which makes three out of the four SV stories shoved out of the queue, yay. Sadly, that's all I'm going to get to before I disappear for the next two months for minor RL committments like, uh, writing 100,000 words. (I shall return! But I will be scarce all of September and October, snif.)
For a change of pace, I'm taking comics!Lex for a spin, though I cling to the Smallville backstory like a limpet. Many thanks to svmadelyn, who poked me to finish and gave me the way to do it, and cesperanza who told me I was done, and to ficbyzee, who pointed me to this piece of ultimate crack, which I really had to do something with. Unless you are on the slowest dialup ever, do go check it out first, both because it is hilariously wonderful and because this is really a sequel to it. *g*
