Ok. I know nothing about birds except that they have feathers and that some taste good when cooked. J is trying to change all that and that's cool with me. We got to this this enormous condor yesterday and I have to admit that I was floored. It has to be the most gigantic flying bird I have ever seen in my life. Look up your kids and cats, big! Anyway, he's been opening my eyes to so many aspects of nature these past weeks that I've known him.
How many times have you walked past a tree or a pond and never truly looked at it? Never thought of the animals that may be residing in it's branches or dared to think about the fish in the water? J stops and does all that. He looks at the world and he sees so many more things than I ever would have. I'm having a good time learning what it's like to maybe even for a moment look through his eyes.
Besides all the science and nature that he loves to talk to me about, we find the time to just relax and get to know each other. Though, I have to say his knowledge of these topics really does astonish me. In a world filled with so many uncaring people it's nice to see someone like him. I plan on getting even when I get to New Zealand. I have all my topics of conversation and the sights we will see mapped out. Hmm..I hope he knows that there will be no nature trips. More like trips to ever shooting location that I love and surfing galore. I can show him where I stepped on glass and what pubs we got rowdiest in. It will be strange not having the crew by my side. But, once I get filming new memories will be added to the old ones.
