ha! we drive the toaster too xD & i LOVE that car SO much. when we get around to looking at a new car, we may look at the Soul, but the Nissan Cube has my attention when we're in morning traffic.
it totally looks like you could sell frozen treats out the side xD it's cute!
i'm in solidarity with you about the xB, or, as we like to call it here, The Toaster - it's an older one, tho', & i;m not entirely keen on the newest models. with us, we get a lot out of buying a car new (we're not the best at having monies on hand for the weird stuff that happens with used cars - we run very close to tight with just the stuff that happens around the end-of-warranty period & keeping up with brakes & tires), so i think the current xB won't be on our check-it-out list - UNLESS we can lower payments significantly by purchasing it.
the truth? i totally feel like a rockstar in our xB. also, i can reach the clutch with my whole foot (which, at 4'10", is always a deal-maker). my only real issue with it is that i cannot reach the dome light without standing on tippee toe. which the 4-stage (which, with my height - lack thereof - is a Major Boon - we've had to disable the airbags in other cars) airbag totally makes up for.
Yeah, I am not totally sold on the new xB's; they just seem too "pretty". I like the ugly toaster look. But at 6'4" I LOVE the xB because it is the first car that my head has never been pressed up against as I am driving. And the leg room in the back is beyond awesome! Talk about a great back seat! just sayin'.
But I have to say that I like the fact that the Soul and the Cube seem to be cheaper than the current Scion's. I am all for affordable, fuel efficient cars. But I do have a 2006 Toaster Box, so it is not only ugly and fuel efficient but it was also cheap.

you know what's going on here, don't you? they're bigger on the inside than they are on the outside.
AND they're inexpensive. AND when more than 5 of them park near each other, they join up to form a GIANT ROBOT! then you get to fly into OUTER SPACE to fight INTERGALACTIC CRIME.
And just for the record I went with "that".
