Touch me, I'm good luck (or something like that)
Awesome, awesome things have been happening in my life lately. Allow me to list:
1. I am the 2007-2008 editor in chief of The University Star, which comes with a pay raise, $2,000 scholarship and internship at the Fort Worth Star Telegram in Summer 2008
2. I have an internship in Washington, D.C. this summer with Hispanic Link, a news service geared toward Latinos. I will be getting paid a $2,000 stipend and free room and board.
3. I learned Monday I received a $3,000 scholarship for next year.
4. I was nominated for the Upper Level Presidential Scholarship by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, which I interviewed for today. I think it went well, but I won't be bummed if I don't get it.
I love life. I love all the opportunities I have been given this year. I love the people that have allowed me to achieve these goals. I love my parents, sister and Mitchell for supporting me through all these endeavors. I don't know how many rejection letters I got this year from a number of different newspapers. I was starting to worry I would spend my summer doing nothing constructive.
