Sweet Sixteen
Do you think it would be possible to have a retroactive Sweet Sixteen? People could shower me with all the presents they neglected to give me 5 years ago. We could hire some performers who were popular back in 2001, like Ace of Base and Marky Mark for an authentic feel. My parents could even give me the Blazer that was never mine and that they sold as soon as I left! I'm telling you, it'd be awesome.
I could alienate my friends, act like a conceited asshole at school, and throw a foot-stomping, face-scrunching, tear-drenched tantrum when the tiki decorations at my party are in neon green and not neon blue. It sounds pretty awesome, the more I think about it. And in true Sweet Sixteen style, I can farm out the responsibilities to venues and party-planners willing to foot the bill for most of it.
I could have the most amazing party ever, and it would all be just as real as that time I got high with Snoop Dogg and Al Gore.
