I swear there's positive stuff in this post too.
I AM SO *($@& BORED.
Work sucks. So, so much. Pretty much I sit here and watch Youtube videos/talk to Alexa on facebook all day. And even when I DO do work, it's not even in my job description. It kinda pisses me off. Officially, I'm supposed to be doing end user support. But ever since Janise quit/was fired/was thrown out the back door/whatever the hell happened there, they pretty much arbitrarily made me their web developer/web app coder/all that crap. Which, on one hand, I don't mind - when those projects come up it's something to do, and it fills my time for a few days. The problem is that I'm being paid to be an end user support monkey, not a coding monkey. If they want me to be their coding monkey, I'm all for it - but they'll need to pay me the appropriate amount. Which is like, double what I'm making now. Of course, the odds of that happening are essentially zero, so if I'm even here for the next school year, I think I will be finding myself vehemently refusing to do any more of their coding crap.
Ummmm the housing situation continues to be... odd... I'm still not sure what the hell is up with Heather and Tony. For months they pretty much cycle between a week and a half of lovey-dovey pollute-my-twitter lets-bang-right-now crap, and then two days of Heather locking herself in the bathroom having a breakdown while she has a screaming match with him over the phone. Rinse, wash, repeat. The lease expires at the end of August, and if I can come up with ANYTHING else, I'll ~so~ be gone. My brother's roomies just bailed on their place, so he's having to move back in with the parents, so he and I might try and find a place. We'll see.
Free trips continue, woo! Off to Indianapolis a week next Tuesday (so the 26th) for US Nationals again. Get to Indy at like 1:30 or something, so will have the afternoon to go to the zoo and then go to the baseball game again this year :) Nothing for July (as usual) - yay for a month of being paid still but not having to do a blessed thing! And then off to Hawaii again in August for Worlds. Unlike two years ago, this time I am SO going early or staying late (probably early). It's such a beautiful place; to not spend a few days that aren't work-filled is just wrong. The sunsets there are so breathtaking - in August anyway, the sun takes like 15 minutes to go from just starting to set to completely gone. It's really quite remarkable. And then there's always the annual wonder for me of seeing palm trees; there aren't a whole whack of those around here, hehe
AHHHH THE COMIC EXPO WAS SO $*@)(&$@()&* FANTASTIC OMFG. I don't even know how much money I spent on that thing, but quite frankly, I don't give a damn. Meeting all of the people I got to meet / pictures / etc WAS SO AWESOME. Alexa and I did end up splurging on the full Star Trek cast photo/autographs. That alone was like $650 each. But whatever. SO AWESOME. I also got pics with Wil Wheaton (separate from the rest of the cast), Stan Lee, Adam West, and John de Lancie. Got a veritable crapton of stuff signed (games, books, pictures, DVDs, etc) as well. I still need to frame all of it @_@
Otafest was also awesome. After my massive inappropriate rage quit over 4th place in the Cosplay Hall Masq contest last year, I took time to fix the crappy parts of the costume (noteably the lame book and the even lamer bookbag - the new ones are GORGEOUS) and also added in a few of the missing parts (the one sword/sheath and the ladybug brooch). I'm really happy with how they came out. And apparently so were the judges; I totally won the novice division this year! :D Winning something more or less forces that costume into retirement (from competition, anyway), so I'll have to figure out what to make for next year. I might maaaaaybe do another one of CC's costumes; she's a fun character to play. We'll see.
I got 999 for the DS at Otafest. HOLY CRAP SUCH A GOOD GAME. I've gotten three of the six endings so far. Unfortunately, they're all crappy endings, haha. For those playing along at home, I've gotten endings 2, 5, and 6. Also got Lollipop Chainsaw on Tuesday, that game is awesome too. I'm trying not to rush through it; finished off Stage 2 last night. Gonna try and get through Stage 3 tonight. Still have sooooo many games to play @_@ And I've got The Last Story on preorder too, that comes out next week I think. Oi.
Nothing new on the girlfriend front. Not that I can say with even an ounce of truth that I've been trying, because I totally haven't. So whatevs. It'll happen eventually. Maybe. hehe
There is one other thing, but I don't really want to talk about it yet, lest I jinx it :3 If it does come to fruition, I'm sure it'll show up here soon enough.
