Today I had my first Advanced Human Dissection lab. We took all of the skin off the cadaver and I accidentally cut the saphenous vein in the right leg, but hey, it was my first time and that's not so bad -- says Dr. Schmitz. Hopefully that's the worst thing I do. But hey, that's a really superficial vein and I was working at an awkward angle trying to get to the opposite side of the leg!
Anyways, fun day.
The first week of classes went well, opening went smoothly, and all of my desk hours are filled. The soccer team won their first season game tonight and I'm traveling with them on Sunday to St Norbert's. I just spent the last few hours watching "Sex and the City" drinking cosmos with my girlfriends.
Things are good. Let's hope they stay that way.
My classes aren't bad this semester, but I've had a lot of homework so far. For two of my classes, Advanced Business Writing and Research Methods in Athletic Training, we're required to turn in a resume. Thankfully, I already have a stupendous looking resume, it just needed some major updating. It didn't have my AD job, my AA job, my Woodchuck's internship, etc. I also have to write a letter of recommendation -- for myself! Hardest. Assignment. Ever.
My Positive Psychology class is interesting, but there's a ton of outside work, including 10 hours of service learning with either Habitat for Humanity or the Salvation Army.
The only class I haven't had so far is my 3-hour Monday night class -- General Medical for AT. Should be exhausting.
So that's life right now. Busy but good.
