On a baking kick ~ Silicone bakeware <3

So, about 4 months ago (<.<) I bought this oh so yummy silicone bakeware set. Problem is I hadn't used it yet. And still I kept buying all these cake mixes whenever I saw them on sale. So I procrastinated till I had 8 boxes of cake mix. >_> (hey! sometimes Safeway has them on sale for only $.89-$.99 a box!)

I had strawberry, lemon, whitex2, classic yellowx2, butter recipe yellow, and carrot cake.

(I bought the white cause I thought I'd try my hand at a tres leche one day *-*)

So first I tried making a banana bundt cake with plain icing. That actually turned out pretty well. But I haven't used my silicone bundt cake pan again, cause cleaning it out was a pain in the arse. <3

Next I tried a banana custard cake with the 2 8" round pans. My cakebatter over flowed the pans .-. And the custard was a failure. XDD (egg custard, I swear I followed the directions but it just wouldn't come out smooth even using the highest speed on my mixer ;_; next time I'll cheat and just use jello pudding .-.)

Based on these two experiences, it'll be some time before I try to use my bundt or 8" rounds again.

The 2 loaf pans are another matter entirely. *-* The batter doesn't overflow and they're a cinch to clean. :D (though for some strange reason, I have to wash them twice. Once after using them and then again right before I use them. Cause they felt fine after washing with detergent and hot water, but a few days later, the pans would feel greasy. At first I thought I had done a poor job of washing them, so I cleaned and rinsed till they were squaky clean, and still they felt greasy a few days after >_>)

Anyway, I used the loaf pans and strawberry mix to make strawberry banana cake. XD Yeah, my parents love bananas .-. I added 1 banana to the mix and some walnut halves (we like big chunks of walnuts in our cake), it came out really yummy. Good thing I only used one banana instead of two, as the bananas really add to the sweetness of the cake, and 2 might have been too sweet. (one banana was already kinda pushing it)
