pt. 1
i will not contain you
or hold in withholding
our arms and eyes are open gates
where there is no
inside
there is no outside
the wild world is in
both places
in arched backs
and in fires burning
our skin is an open space
within open spaces between
those spaces
in fluids sharing
we're motions and words
dissolving
permeable
love isn't escaping
its responding
its giving in return
no taking
its the waves on the beach
its salmon mingling
with soil
mingling with roots
its seasons constantly changing
mountains walking themselves
to sleep
rivers mixing with the sea
its the way sounds are married
to lips to teeth to tongues
its in way my eyes and the world
consume each other consuming
it isn't thin mattresses
and clumsy words
though they allude to it.
there is love
and there is this other thing
these other words and ideals
and songs
but they are looking at the finger
to miss the moon
the moon is love sharing
silver on skin
tides changing
pt2
Where do you end
And I begin
There is a distinction
when I breathe in
where does outside end
and inside begin
When the sun is setting
where does light end
and I begin
There is a space
Between dreaming
And whatever this is
Folding and unfolding
Into itself
When we entangle
Fluids and wet kisses sharing
Who is inside of whom
and does it even matter
Where do salmon end
And the forest begin
and how does the sea
Play into all of it
There is intimacy
and connectedness
Intimately tied to
Unconnectedness
(When Buddha held the flower
I think he was saying
Get over it.)
I speak of dissolving
And you and i will still be ourselves
we are in all of this
chests beating
lungs breathing
lovers leaving
the ocean forever
gaining and receding
