So very, very happy you love your gift and me still, even after all that shameless stalling - There really is no detour around a vidder block in the mist of a project except time and some distance ( ... )

Which brings me back to vidding, I wouldn’t even attempt clipping to vid TXF. I needed to use avs-scrips that contain half a season in order to not break Premiere with the shire number of scripts. You know how it tends to crash with many avisynth-scripts and I don’t like clipping anyway, but damn, 9 hours are a lot to browse through especially if you are a bit hazy on the details and still know that there is the one second shot you want somewhere in that half of the season. But I’m OCD of having the whole show in my project and on display, when I vid and a good memory so it worked out in the end ( ... )

I know avs is a godsend in terms of avoiding clipping but I do struggle to find what I want that way. I always miss really cool shots because I've scrubbed past at the speed of light. Your OCD might be helpful my ADD certainly isn't. :)

I'm hoping that when I come to make the vid my shaky grasp of the mytharc won't be too noticeable because I don't think I'd be going too much into the crazy conspiracy theories.

I have my shiny new comp now so I won't be battling random crashes and shutdowns and assorted other weird shit meaning I might actually be able to get some proper vidding done. I might well make Scully my next project or at least one of them. I'll put the song in the dungeon if you wanna listen tell me what you think?
I would always be grateful for any input form you and Xandra when it comes to beta'ing.

OMG. This was so AWESOME.
The editing is perfect and the transition is like so natural..Everything was perfect, i don't even imagine the time it take to make a video like that.

I'm gonna check all your vids now to find some inspiration lol

thanks and make more please ;)

Thank you for your awesome comment. Heh. I had a blast making this vid, so time really doesn’t count and my inner perfectionist just gets more demanding the longer I vid. Even when I have the feeling that I start to simple effects down again. But I’m so flattered you feel inspired and loved the video. Have fun watching the others and thank you again for your wonderful comment.

Wow. I'm blown away by this! I say this all the time, when leaving feedback on fanfic that intimidates the hell out of me as a writer, but I feel the same way about fantastically constructed vids; vids like yours. They're the sort of things that make me rather terrified of ever breaking open that Adobe Premiere box I've got lying around.

I loved "Move," and I love this as well, though I knew I would before I even downloaded the file. It's difficult for me to get into Scully's head, as a writer or a viewer, but you've made it work seamlessly for me twice now. I also love that we see Mulder through her eyes, and this commentary you've woven is an honest interpretation of both of them, not just one. It brings an image to mind of Scully as her mother, a Navy wife, waiting on the shores of the universe for Mulder, her sailor of the stars, to come home.

Love it, and please keep vidding. Yours is some of the best stuff out there.

WOW - Thank you for this incredible feedback, I’m actually working against my speechlessness here trying to come up with a good response. Last night when I watched the final export I had this ridiculous thought of, ‘Oh, they are the real deal of star-crossed lovers.’ Literally. That was before I decided it was time for another coffee ( ... )

You're very welcome! When I left it realized, "Damn, I love her vids, but something tells me I've never commented before..." I'm really terrible about that, it's probably one of my worse habits.

So true, though. I still view XF as, ultimately, a tragedy, but the overarching theme is still, at the end of the day (or the season, or the series; however you'd rather view it) hope. I think that's why this vid works so well; you don't lose sight of that, even while focusing on the hardships Scully faces, and the events which test her strength. I think that's also why straight-up ANGST vids rarely work; the show is tragic, yes, but it never gets entirely swept away by futility. If it did, Mulder and Scully wouldn't be the tragic heroes they are. And now I'm rambling. (Dammit, that's probably Bad Habit #1 ( ... )

We obviously share two bad habits already - very good start. I’m so happy to hear you loved the other xf vids as well and I completely agree about the importance of hope. I love angsty vids and made my fair share of them, but I always try to balance out the pain with hope and their inner resolve to not fight a losing battle. Because as it is the triumphs are hard-earned and far in between, but worth remembering.

If you are tackling the technical process there is no better start point then here. Everything there is to know about vidding is in that guide - so it might not be an easy read, but it will pay off. Even when the details of it are intimidating and hazy at first once you work your way through you really understand the theory behind the pretty pictures. I wished I had encountered this guide earlier in my vidding years to answer some of my questions, but remember you don’t have to understand everything. Things get clearer once you start playing around with Premiere and Avisynth is the best way to edit. It solves all the ( ... )

Wow! This is incredible! I've always loved this song for Mulder and Scully (and Harry/Hermione ahem), but this vid -- it's playful, quick, comprehensive, sweet, moving. It shows so much. The sense of movement is engaging; there's so much "content" I'm looking forward to watching it multiple, multiple times and putting it all together. Thank you for this!

You’re welcome and I’m thrilled by your eagerness to rewatch. And yes, when I listened to the song my brain instantly went, ‘Oh damn, this is an ideal Scully PoV - must vid - now.’ I just loved the tone of it and the lyrics, I just knew what kind of vid I wanted to make for it. And I’m happy you enjoyed it so much, thank you for your wonderful comment.

This was lovely. You really did a great job with the song - the cuts are sort of counterintuitive but they work really well. And I love how you used the images with the dialogue at the beginning.

I probably shouldn’t mention here that I read up on some editing theories a few weeks ago or that I don’t think I will ever be a vidder that can cut strictly on beat and not consider the lyrics as anchor point. ‘Clear the area’ was an interesting experiment in that regard and I think I learned a few things here for the future. And merci beaucoup for the feedback.
