I took the day off work for doctors' appts, the result which is no tear in my tendons but my arm still doesn't work right. So what's up with that. Eleven months, not getting better. But...the naturopathic clinic has been injecting homeopathics (with arnica and other goodies) into my trigger points and last week's injects decreased my pain by about 20% and increased my mobility by about the same. And now my skin is breaking out because of the detox. Sigh... Bleck, it's still like drinking river mud but I made a tasty dinner of brown rice with a bit of coconut milk in it, chicken stir fried in olive oil with snow peas, broccoli, mushrooms and sesame seeds, in a fine bit of garlic, salt, pepper, coriander, cayenne, jalapeno, ginger and basil. It was yummy. (and there are ketones in my urine--a good thing showing the fat is burning).
I was heartbroken to find out by cowboy boots is unfixable *sniff*. The leather is too thin and tearing and they can't be resoled. I grieve because it is completely impossible to find boots that fit my calves and I wanted these to last forever. Sigh, it is not to be.
But...I wandered down a block to Legends, on Main St., the best vintage clothing store around. Sometimes not so great vintage but she keeps her prices reasonable. I finally found a cotton slip/crinoline (not as full though) for my fullish skirts. It will need a bit of waist tinkering. And I got a black velvety top with great bosom attractors--it's so gothy. But the best was this French silk number. Imagine Monet or Lautrec painting in dark greens with a bit of blue and yellow. Put that into a bustier and add chiffon sleeves that are full but gathered at the wrist. The go straight over the shoulder so it's almost a square cut at the decolletage, except for the curve over the cups. I just fit it. $26. Whee! I couldn't resist.
I sometimes love being a girl.
