Expermentation

I officiated at a wedding yesterday (handfasting) and had a chance to ask the photographer some questions since he had the same camera I've recently bought. The answers have helped me fiddle about. Today I tried my manual lenses from my film SLR on the digital. It took some doing but I did get them to work and finally got the flash to work too.

Which means if my second lens doesn't get here tomorrow (by a long convoluted set of couriers from Seattle) then I'll still be able to have two lenses for Ireland. The manual will be completely manual but that's what I like best and the photographer showed me how to change shutter speed and f-stops. The digital can't read the f-stops on the manual lenses but that's okay, cuz I can.

Mostly packed and I did four loads of laundry today, plus a load of dishes and major dusting vacuuming in the bedroom. Tomorrow will involve a quick vacuum of the rest of the house and more packing. I think I need to pack another skirt and check the toiletries but otherwise I'm pretty near packed. Now off I go to read a bit.
