Bizzy?

Well the party went well. Not as large as some, nor as small. Just right, said Goldilocks. But it was good as it was icky outside and there was enough room for everyone but no cavernous gaps. We made the most of it.

Friends Emma  and George came up from Seattle. Hadn't seen them in a couple years. We went for brunch on Sunday and wandered through the car-free festival on the Drive. If I hadn't had the book to finish copyediting I would have hung and danced around where one of the bands were playing. There were a few vendors but mostly from the stores and a few from the folk festival the week before. The rain held off till we got back to my place. Perfect timing that.

Other friends from Seattle were Kyle and Mary. New friends in a way. Kyle and I started talking about a year and half ago through okaycupid and I don't know if we ever intended to date before he met Mary. It never came up. But we got to know each other through email and it was very cool that they came for the party. Just as nice in person, even if we didn't get that much time to socialize. They're tall. I felt short. Wait a minute, I am short.

Sam was the sacrificial victim, only in that he slept on the couch because he was mumbling drunk. He has this bizarre romantic view of an Irish drunk. Because his father was Irish and lived up to the drinking (though I believe he wasn't always drunk) Sam thinks he must too. So, there we are, winding down, a few of us still talking and Sam won't drink any water because it will dilute his blood or something. I even left him a glass of water but it maintained its virginity. Sigh. But I gotta say it was Sam that showed me I wasn't the only unusual person amongst my friends. In fact, most are pretty unusual. I fit right in.

I did finish the copyedit, at 2:30  in the morning. Although I wasn't hung over I did say up till 5 and needed a midday nap. So, here I am still feeling whelmed. My sister and I are each researching three B&B/guesthouses to stay in, in Dublin, and three car rental places. We'll book the lodging for Dublin and when we want the car and then wing it as it seems we're off season enough that we should have our pick. And thankfully dinners are cheaper than the 50+ euros the guidebooks were saying. Though of course there is that price range.

I have much to do in writing for my marketing job, and I've decided to try to write hmm, at least 2000 words a week. I think it's going to be 2000 on a novel, and 2000 on other works. I have to get the books going. I'm not getting  richer, younger or more famous. Oooof!

I have to research and buy a digital SLR camera and it seems I can save megabucks and not pay duty if I buy in the US. Sooo, I have to find some good places and quick.

Next Monday consultation for eye laser surgery. Yay! Fingers crossed that I'm gonna be a candidate for that. And Friday I go to my first writer's meeting in a looong time, maybe a year. Giving it a try and even gave them a story to savage. We'll see how that goes. And now so must I.
