My family

When I was in high school, I wanted nothing to do with my parents. They were always saying "Be more part of the family," but they were both CPA's, and, frankly, I didn't find their conversation scintillating. Probably why my finances are so fucked now. But I always liked showing off schoolwork on which I had done a good job. My daughter's just the opposite. She likes spending time with me, but she doesn't want anyone reading her writing (she wants to be an English major?), despite the fact that she's an excellent (and witty) writer.

My son's 15th birthday is coming up, and I asked him to email me some things he wanted, and he mentioned a video game, and some Vans, "and of course i would like money to buy some shirts." Of course.

Meanwhile, here's a picture of what my daughter calls "the trifecta of evil" or maybe it was "the trifecta of doom."

Tyger, the plump one in the middle, I often refer to as my "pudge muffin of love," or my "pudge muffin d'amour," or my "pudge muffin d'amore," depending on my mood. But she is the cat with the serious attitude, and when Sarah decided "pudge muffin of doom" was more appropriate, I had to admit it had a ring to it. :-)

cats, fam
