I've taken it easy in the running department lately.  My official marathon training program does not start until June 15th.  I'm still running, but not as hard or as far.  It feels good to give the legs a rest.

things have been good at work lately.  My boss officially left on friday.  We threw him a fun Farewell Happy Hour after work on thursday.  We shared some funny stories and I felt he had a good time.  I accidentally got horribly drunk with one of my co workers.  She and I were sucking down the sangria like it was nobody's business.  I'm usually fine when I do this, but I'm not used to sangria with liquor in it...I can only assume that this batch had vodka or rum in it...or else it would NOT have had the effect that it did!

I ended up flat on my face in bed at 9:00 with some help from Marc.  It should also be noted that this was all on an empty stomach, which felt even more horrible.  The next day (friday) was hell.  I got out of bed like twenty minutes early because I know that I a) wouldnt be able to stand up straight and b) would have to take frequent breaks whilst getting ready.  I looked pretty good (not like a trainwreck) after I finished getting ready.  I had a few comments from people like "holy hell I cant believe you made it to work today!" and "haha you were funny last night."  Yes, I'm sure I was.  However, I am not humiliated by anything I said or did...because everyone knows that I dont behave like that when I'm sober.

Say what you will about "oh, its so unclassy to get wasted at a work function."  We are not a classy group.

I definitely made the classic comment "I am never drinking again."  I drank on Saturday though, but it was very controlled.  Mayfest, or Maifest, in Lincoln Square was a blast with the sister, hubby, and brother in law.  See facebook for the pictures.  We drank out of fun beer steins and danced to the Ompah Band...and ate some wonderful food.  The Ompah Band was very strange in my opinion.  I would have preferred classic German Folk songs.  However, after a couple of those....they busted out the soccer chant "Ole! Ole! Ole! Ole!  we are the champions, Ole!"  and then "Pretty Woman"...and THEN "Sweet Caroline"...and THEN "Jump Jive and Wail" by Brian Setzer.... All in traditional German Ompah Band dress/costume.  WTF!!??!!  I came here for a GERMAN festival!  That was okay though.

The night ended with a 90s party and Andrew and Kevins.  I kept saying "I have to go home" (because I did), but then another wonderful 90s song would play and we would bust out our 90s dance moves.  The best part of the night was rapping to Coolios "Gangstas Paradise" and Skeelo's "I wish."  I cant believe we all remember the words...We looked like funny white people.  I'm glad no one else saw us.

I came to bed with Marc finally and he was like "you stink."  I must have gotten all sweaty busting out the 90s dance moves.

In other news, I ordered black shower curtain liners last week.  they finally arrived today.  I'm sick of looking at my nasty moldy white ones.  I have to replace them with new ones like once every three months or so.  My shower curtain is so pretty so Im sick of nasty liners.  I wish I just had one of those sliding glass doors.  so much cleaner...

In OTHER other news, Marc and I have a "stay"cation (vacation where you dont leave town) this Friday.  We originally got the time off thinking we were going on a trip.  But we thought...the price of plane tickets, or renting a car, plus boarding Sammy...all that...would be a lot, when we could just save money and plan a fun weekend in Chicago.  So we have Friday and Monday off, and we typed up a whole itinerary of things to do.  We never get to do stuff in Chicago that we want to do because we're always busy doing other things.  I will take lots of pictures to document the whole thing :)

I think I've written quite enough.

ps- did anyone watch the premiere of Jon and Kate Plus 8 last monday?  I am now addicted to their train wreck of a marriage, and will definitely be watching tonight.  Everyone keeps saying "oh my heart breaks for those kids."  And I agree, but I'm not really a parent so I cant relate to that part.  I'm mostly sad over the marriage - their lack of eye contact with each other, and the fact that they didnt interact at ALL during the sextuplets's birthday party.  As a married person that broke my heart.  I just wanted to hear them say that they loved each other...just once!  Maybe tonight they will...say it for me, Jon and Kate!

pss- McCafe is my new addiction.  I love the vanilla iced coffees.  So affordable and so tasty!
