now I've gone and done it...

Ouch.  I hurt my knee.  I have patella femoral syndrome, which is like super common to have if you're a young athlete.  It hasnt been an issue in a really long time though.

It used to flare up a lot in highschool.  Like, in highschool I would run cross country, take a break and then start up in January for track.  My knees would always get hurt at the beginning of track because in the time period between track and cross country they got weaker.  So now when I started back up this month I think I did too much too soon.  I would go play raquetball then run on the treadmill and weight train....I probably should have broken up those activities more to give my knees time to get stronger.

So anyway, I'm in a lot of pain.  The worst is when I lay down in bed and try to sleep.  I think my knee moves more from side to side when I'm in bed which causes the most pain.  I got up at like 5:30 this morning because the pain woke me up...so I got up, iced, and popped some alieve.  I feel better now that I got it moving a bit.  I also bought a knee stabilizer from Walgreens on my way to work.  Its annoying cause it was like 20 bucks!  It's working though...even though I'm still limping around and I look silly.

I hope to be back in the gym next week, but I will take it easy.  I have to be 100% better AND in shape by March 29th cause I'm running the Shamrock Shuffle 8K.  I think thats do-able.  The in-shape part will be harder than the healing part.

A bit of some good news though- I finally got my hair cut.  That made me happy.  The woman who cut it did a great job.  She did a razor cut and also used texturizing shears.  I love the way both those tools make my hair look.  It gives me like a wispy/pointy look as opposed to an old lady look....the last lady didnt do that so I was sad the last time I got it cut.

This is random, but I love taking afternoon naps when Sammy is in his cage ha!  I'll be asleep and I'll be in and out of sleep for a couple hours....and I look at Sammy in his cage.  He'll either be sleeping, too...or he'll be eating his food and staring at me.  Its cute :)  I love him!

Marc and I watched the Golden Globes last night.  I cant wait to see some of the movies that were nominated.   I really missed out this year I think....
