I mostly seem to update this on Mondays, to post about the only 'exciting' days of my week, the weekend. I usually have nothing of notice to report during the week, because I always do the same stuff: get up, go to work, go home, have dinner, play WoW, sleep. On Tuesdays, we have date night, so replace the WoW part with watching TV shows or something else couple-y.
So, this last weekend. Saturday we went to expat board game meeting for the 2nd time. It's at a small American coffee house called
The Ugly American. Last time it was on a Sunday afternoon, this time it was a Saturday night. I think Sundays work better, because the turnout was smaller. Last time there was this girl who so reminded me of
electricsoup, full of energy, very vibrant and fun. She wasn't there this time and things were a bit awkward. There was a new couple, American chick and her German husband, and I played Ticket to Ride with them, while Cinna was playing Carcassonne. I have to say that I really didn't care much for the chick, because she left no doubt to it that she actually despises being in Germany, and that there was no way that she would ever consider staying here forever. She was really snobbish, and her attitude really rubbed me the wrong way. The game was fun, but...dunno. The couple are hosting another boardgame thingy later this month, not sure if I want to go to that one. If Cinna wants to, I guess. The thing was over at 9 pm, and we hadn't really had much food, so Cinna went to a Thai restaurant right by the tram stop. It was quite lovely, really great food.
Yesterday I got to drive to Dortmund to visit my mom. My foot still hurts a bit when I drive. Arriving at my mom's, she was all nervous and blushing, telling me that it embarrassed her, but that my brothers had left a to-do list for me. My sweet sweet brothers. It had been my plan to help her in the household during my visit anyway. :P I mopped her floors, vacuumed and scrubbed her bathroom tiles and tub, watched some TV with her and then went back home. I was angry about the cat stuff when I went there, but it's impossible to stay angry with her. She just makes me feel very bad and sad. My mom is sweet and extremely generous. *sighs* Apparently she's on the waiting list to get into cared living, and she sounded happy about that. She said she's too scared to ever leave the house, and that she's weak on her legs because she only sits on her couch all day. On the other hand, her health insurance has cut down on the visits of Caritas, the care service she's on, so she only gets a visit once a day instead of three times now.
APOST
http://www.livejournal.com/update.bml HTTP/1.0nd that was just about my weekend. Right now, things are odd, not very happy-making. There's this unexplainable rift that Cinna and I are having lately, and it scares me. But then I am known for worrying about nothing.
