We didn't do any raiding this week, as the guild leaders of TDH, a married couple, were away for Thanksgiving. They want to pick up the slack with raids during the week, we shall see how that pans out.
I didn't really have much else to do but play, so play I did. Wednesday night, a bunch of us went to Blackrock Depths, as
madglitters had never been there yet, despite 6 months at 60. Hee. :) I know the place inside out, so it worked pretty well. We had the usual wipe on the Dark Iron Highway, which along with the Lycaeum is freakishly hard in that instance. Of course I still have to go back, as I totally forgot all quest items for the Love Potion quest in the bank. :P We had our best attempt yet at the Lycaeum, had both torches and were within sight of the first brazier. One fine day. A lot of mail dropped, which made our hunter happy, I am sure, and I managed to score
Omnicast Boots off Golem Lord Argelmach.
Friday, I took my level 54 warrior to Sunken Temple. That was another smooth run. I did have some problems holding aggro at times, because people weren't waiting for me to actually build aggro (hello, fury spec warrior here!), but other than that, it was great. Even the Hakkar event went swimmingly. We had one death during the Eranikus fight, he kept putting me to sleep four times, so our mage Sleet died. :( We took him down anyway. He dropped an awesome shield that I won,
Crest of Supremacy. Finally something that replaces my Aegis of the Scarlet Commander. :)
Saturday, we did a lowbie run, Wailing Caverns. I recently started playing a hunter. Let me tell you one thing. Hunter is ezmode. It's almost ridiculous how easy it is to play a hunter. You just never die. I have a turtle pet, it's like hiding behind a wall. We were just 4 people for the WC run. Rogue, druid, hunter, priest. What can I say, we just blasted through. It took a bit longer than it would have with 5, but we rocked the house. Only on Lord Serpentis did we have a problem, as we got aggro of a druid in the back. The druid and a serpent killed my turtle, and they went straight for our priest. She died, and all the stuff at the entrance had repopped. No gem for her. :( But she won some really nice cloth shoulders when we did the escort part with the ginormous murloc, so yay.
Yeah, I am still not done yet, for my day of triumph comes now: Undead side Stratholme on Sunday. Only my second time there, but the first visit had seen quite a few wipes at the hands of Ramstein, and not a chance in hell at killing the Baron. We progressed slowly, but steadily.
minx_alibis really knows how to pull well, it's quite awesome. The Baroness fight worked pretty well. She possessed Kouprey twice and Lizelle once, so that means she picked the only two people in the group with no Fear skills. Yay for not being feared straight into other mobs. :) The Baroness then made me happy by dropping
Dreadmist Sandals. We moved on to the other ziggurats. Nerub'enkan had the lamest drops ever, but Maleki the Pallid was much nicer to me. He dropped
Maleki's Footwraps. Go figure, replaced the Omnicast Boots after a mere four days. The Magister sucked, he just won't drop my pimp hat. Instead he dropped some feral druid idol. He must hate me.
I died in front of the slaughterhouse, in one of the waves of belcher attacks, had pulled aggro as the new boots kicked in with new crit records. Lizelle died once Ramstein died, and you get two more waves of mobs. And then, we headed inside, I took a deep breath, and for the first time ever, our guild killed the Baron. Very very smoothly, nothing went wrong. Lizelle was on AoE duty and killed the skeletons immediately whenever they came running for
mfirefly, I focused all my DPS and every possible DoT on the Baron, and down he went. Awesomeness! He dropped yummy stuff. Nagna got
Helm of the Executioner and
Skullforge Reaver. That sword looks so kick-ass. :) He also drops class pants, and guess which ones he dropped? Yes,
Dreadmist Leggings. :D It clearly was my day. Maybe I should go more often without
schmitt around, that's clearly when the awesome drops happen.
Admittedly, I won't wear the Dreadmist stuff when running instances. The pieces have no +damage at all, I have much better stuff already. But I have a second outfit for soloing, which puts more emphasis on stamina and intellect, for better longevity when soloing. That's where all my Dreadmist stuff is. I would be 6/8 now, but I did the Deathmist upgrade quests for bracers, belt and gloves. The Deathmist stuff is soooo superior to Dreadmist, no kidding. And then Cinna gave me
Felheart Bracers as a gift. So now I am 2/8 Deathmist and 3/8 Dreadmist in my solo outfit. I don't see a successful 45 minute Baron run in my near future, so that's fine. I do hope to eventually get the mask in Scholomance, for the 4/8 bonus of the Dreadmist set.
Five levels to go for Kadomi, and then I have to start gearing her up. Not sure if she'll do much tanking, but I want to run some instance as DPS warrior sometime, to see how well I actually do at that.
