I 've been accepted to go to ACAD (Alberta College of Art & Design), where I will be taking the degree program in visual communications, with a major of either graphic design or illustration. One of the nice things about the program is that I don't have to pick my major until fourth year, and in the three proceeding years I will learn design fundamentals. I have completed a certificate in visual design at the university, which helped me to put together my portfolio for ACAD.

I can't believe how easy it was to get a student loan from my bank. I called them today, told them how much I need and they said no problem and just to come down to the bank with my acceptance letter. I thought getting a loan would be a big hassle and that since I have some money in the bank and in saving they would make me use some or all of it, but I guess that's not the case. I've heard there is a print class next summer in grease and will be looking into going to that. Being in the VC program I may not be able to take any fine art options, because from what I've been told the VC program has a pretty full schedule.

I really can't wait to be a full time student. I've been at my mailroom job for over 4 years now, and am so happy to break the routine of working 8 'till 5. Before I start the school year I'm getting a greyhound pass and will be traveling from B.C.down to California. If I don't get my skateboard back before the trip I may get a longboad, (despite how dangerous I hear they can be). My plan is to go to Vancouver maybe for a day or two, seattle for less then a week, Sanfran for aprox 2 weeks, and L.A. for aprox. 2 weeks. I may try to work under the table in calf. if I start to run out of money, or I could always panhandle or do commissioned portraits; but it probably won't come down to that. Well I'm down their I plan to do a lot of surfing and check out the galleries and museums. And in L.A. I want to go to Release the Bats. But these are vague plans for now.

I still want to go to NY for the Drop Dead in September, hopefully some of my friends will come down there with me, as we have been planning for the last year of so. I will probably just go for the weekend since I'll be in school.
