Alive in the great US of A
Well, just a minor update to let everyone know I am alive and well. The trip was long, and the lugging 100+ lbs of luggage around sucked. But after 2 nights at an inn, and one very long orientation today, we are finally settled in our dorm rooms. It's sparce, dead and rather empty now, but no doubt the new roomie and other locals will arrive some time over the weekend.
Minor shopping trip tomorrow to collect some odds and ends; then hopefully, weather permitting, a little campus wandering and photo taking. Weather thus far has been clear and nippy, until today at which point it decided to warm up and rain. More rain ahead, I fear, but over all, comparable to home.
Alas, I must go in search of food. Why the meal halls can't be open when students arrive is beyond me, but in no time, I'm sure I'll be sick of it... Unless it is as bloody marvelous as everyone keeps proclaiming. We shall see...
