really cool - is the temperature significant?

DW Reaction post (done while watching). Title sequence: I APPRECIATE THAT FREEMA IS LAST. IT MAKES ME HAPPY. AND I KNOW THAT'S MEAN, BUT STILL.
The theme music is quite nice, I've decided. I was a bit dubious about it in the beginning, but I'm used to it now.
The Beeb really likes their alliteration, eh?

Starting about four minutes in FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES.

Serious Martha? SERIOUSLY? WTF WAS THAT TURN? (4:14 ish). THAT WAS SO INSANELY DRAMATIC AND SLOWMO AND I KIND OF WANT TO SHAKE YOU FOR DOING THAT. AND YOUR HAIR IS PRETTY. THE END.

Even though I don't like Martha, I really do like the hug the Doctor and her shared. So cute.

Hee! Martha 'got over it.' I HOPE THIS MEANS THE CRUSH ON THE DOCTAH.
HEE. IT DID. She's engaged! To Tom! Yay!

'You give him a hug, you get a paper cut!' Oh Donna, I love you.

Operation Blue Sky? What does that stand for? Is it because the Atmos workers wear blue? Because that's pretty lame if that's it.

I do like that Donna's objecting to the whole 'RUN IN WITH BIG GUNS AND THREATEN TO SHOOT EVERYONE IN SIGHT JUST TO FIND ALIENS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT EXIST' plan UNIT seems to have going. And the crack about Guantanamo Bay was nice. Parallels between US policy and UNIT policy? Good going.

Woah. No carbon emissions? I have to say, that's pretty impressive. Even if 52 people did die simultaneously.

Donna is actually a really, really good companion. She asks all the right questions at the right times with just the right about of snark.

Staring at the red berets, I must say that Ianto in one would be very nice. I wonder if Martha ever actually gave Jack one ... Would've been a good surprise present. *g*

Now, this may be the total Classic Who noob in me showing, but what exactly is the difference between UNIT and Torchwood? I mean, I get that Torchwood is against the Doctor (in principle) and UNIT isn't, but I can't see much else to separate them. Other than the uniforms. UNIT does have uniforms. And those snazzy berets. And more than fiv - no wait, it's three now - people. But other than that ... Help?

DO NOT OPEN THE BIG, THREATENING BOX YOU STUPID, STUPID MEN. At least ask it questions before you do. Because that makes sense. The ominous thumping is obviously from a newly trapped human. Duh. Silly UNIT people.

Baby type thing in green fluid? That's the second baby they've had this season - the Adipose babies and now this thing.

Hee. Short jokes. Always fun.

Wow, this baddie seems quite intelligent. And strangely remorseful? What's up with that?

And now I just think he's a big potato head. HEE. *squishes*

Aww, Donna went for the domestic approach - examining the people instead of the technology. Such a Rose thing to do. 'Super temp' is right!

'Subject profile: GENIUS.' THAT IS MADE OF WIN.

The fire thing. (18:40 ish) Strangely similar to the whole 'He's like fire and ice and rage' from either FoB or HN. And there is lots of fire everywhere else. Is there an importance to this or am I just over-analyzing?

Freema's acting seems to have improved (22:00). I'm really glad about that actually. I want to like her, so the whole shitty acting reason being gone might help with that.

FLASHBACKZZZZZZ. As if we had forgotten. HEE.

WILF!! *tacklehugs* You adorable old man, you. Aww, Wilf and Donna are so sweet together. They seem so close.

So Donna's mother got her keys back? With no one to tell her which trashcan it was? That's pretty impressive. The idea of her rifling through all the bins on that street is kind of funny though.

The Doctor can smell genius! SO AWESOME. And he's so at home with all the smart kids. He's just so geeky. AND HE'S A GRAMMAR NAZI TOO.

'How did he get in? Intrudah window?' SO SILLY.

POTATO HEAD! 'Skarl the Not-Quite-So-Undefeated-Anymore-But-Nevermind' - HEE. (or Scar. Or Scarrb. I couldn't quite tell.)

The whole Sontarans not being able to turn from enemies because they have that HOLE in their backs reminds me - and it could just be me - of the Japanese during the Tokugawa period. They were only allowed to wear helmets and armour that covered their fronts, nothing on their backs. In class, all I could think was how stupid that was. What if someone attacked from behind? What then? If the Japanese (or Sontarans) were sandwiched between two groups of people with great big swords (or guns), how would they cope? I mean, they wouldn't be able to protect their vunreable backs because, unless there was a handy dandy rock face on one side, there would be no where around them that wasn't filled with oncoming death. [/random tangent] I wonder if that'll actually happen. The Doctor kind of got close with his rubber ball (?) thing.

ALSO. The Doctor is really good at throwing things, have you noticed that? The satsuma in TCI, the orange (maybe) in FoB/HN, and now this. Pretty cool.

Rattigan's accent is really jarring in a show dominated by British accents. Just wanted to get that out there.

MARTHA! BONDAGE AGAIN? TUT-TUT.

OH. ARE WE GOING TO GET THE COVERED-IN-GREEN-GOO!MARTHA FROM THE TRAILER? BECAUSE THAT MEANS WE ONLY HAVE ROSE AND THE DOCTOR TO SEE. YAY! \o/ \o/ \o/

Time War reference. I've seen speculation that episode 12 (or something) is titled something having to do with the Time War, theoretically why it's official title is 'TBA.'

OH HAI THERE GOOEY FAKE!MARTHA!

Anticlimactic explosion FTW!

I know I should be focusing on the impending end of the world (41), but all I can think of is why Rattigan is helping the Sontarans.

HOLY SHIT WILF. HOLY SHIT, HOLY SHIT, HOLY SHIT. DON'T YOU DARE DIE, DON'T YOU DARE. YOU ARE TOO ADORABLE TO DIE. FIRST OWEN AND NOW WILF? NOOOOOO.

THE CLAPPING (42:40)! SO MUCH WIN. AND LULZY TOO. It's like what I do to psych myself up for a field hockey game.

Final thought: Good episode. But if Wilf dies, I will be so pissed.
