Oscars 2007 (which, surprisingly, didn't totally suck)
I had absolutely no desire to see The Queen until I saw Helen Mirren win Best Actress, which apparently everyone knew was going to happen but whatevs, Helen is made of awesome ... and looked absolutely beautiful tonight.
Also, kudos to Forrest Whitaker (his speech made me teary), and YAY! to Ennio Morricone for his lifetime achievement award in motion picture scoring. I'm a total movie music geek -- nothing compliments a good film like a great piece of music, and Ennio writes some of the most beautiful stuff in the business. He made me cry too, bless him, and congrats all around.

... and Will Farrell and Jack Black win at life, especially when joined in oogling Helen Mirren by John C. Reilly via song-and-dance. Hee ... and WORD.

ETA: Jack Nicolson with a shiny bald head ... I can't decide if it looks good or a little frightening. Eh, the man scares me either way.
