Visiting with my parents this weekend ... only to find my mom off at a co-worker's wedding, and Papa's repainting the house.
Which I have to say, is fucking ugly ... pre-paint job, the house was mint green. It looked like a giant after-dinner mint, which was bad enough. Now, he's painting it pink -- er, excuse me, pale burgundy -- with dark burgundy trim. Right now, it's all pink with the dark green trim from before ... it seriously looks like a leprechaun barfed Pepto Bismal all over my childhood home.
Still, Papa swears it'll look good once the new trim gets painted on. That remains to be seen, but I have faith in my pa.
Otherwise, it's a beautiful day out, sunshine and a cool breeze going on. Me, sitting at the 'puter, rubbing my dog's belly while watching my dad lovingly spread pink puke over the fence. He had me playing the movie Gilda in the backround, loud enough so he can hear "Amado Mio" and "Put the Balme On Mame." It's funny -- he hears the opening strains to a song and comes running to the back door, dripping paint over the patio while watching Rita Hayworth do her famous non-striptease.
PAPA: How a woman can look that alluring with all her clothes on is incredible. Fifty years later, and she's still a goddess.
ME: Oh, yeah. She's hot.
PAPA: So, you like the house so far?
ME: ... um, want some Cheetos?
PAPA: --__--
AMAYA: *barks, wags tail happily*
PAPA: See? Baby likes it!
ME: *feeds Amaya Cheetos*
Later, all!
