Lazy, lazy, lazy

Long time, no post. I've been online ... just didn't feel like commenting much. I've also been busy with school and prep for Spring Quarter ... being poor makes going to school that much harder *looks at reciept for books, cringes*

Anyhoo -- quick update.

Exactly a month ago today I went to see Juanes (Colombian rock singer) in concert in Seattle with the family. Surprisingly, much fun was had by all and it was a bitchin' concert, besides. It was also my mom's first concert, ever. She's turning 60 this month, and had never had the pleasure of being crammed between about 1000 people and amped up speakers while screaming her lungs out and not caring if her throat starts to go raw. Go fig. Though it was pretty funny (endearing, even) watching her watch Juanes do his magic on stage ... she just kida bounced on her feet and did the middle-aged Latina version of 'raising the roof' while jamming to the songs. Heh. My mama maybe be a battle-axe, but damned if she doesn't have her moments. We were all on a happy high afterwards, couldn't stop talking about how awesome the night was, then we stuffed our faces at Denny's before crashing at 2am. Fun was had by all.

Ummm ... I also shaved my head about a week ago. Just an odd random impulse in lieu of too much coffee at 3 in the morning while cramming for a math test; the mass of poodle 'fro is goooone ... though in retrospect I probably should have waited til summer, since Washington weather just ain't been kind to my mostly nekkid scalp ... and you can actually see the goosebumps through the stubble. Surprisingly, it doesn't look too horrible. Granted, the first thought that went through my head when I got a look at myself in the mirror was "GOOD GOD! I'M BUTCH!" Some choice reactions I've gotten:

MOM: ALEJANDRA! You look like a cancer victim!
DAD: HA! You look pretty, but your mama's going to shit herself.
SABRINA: Wow. Your head doesn't look that weird! ... was mom pissed?
TONY: ...why?...
BECCA, MATH BUDDY: You look like a lesbian stand-up comic! (at least she's half-right *giggle*)

It's all ready starting to grow back ... haven't decided if I'm going to keep it shaved or let it grow out. I'm dreading the little curlies that are going to spring up in a few months' time. Stupid curly hair genes.

GOOD TV ALERT: Lost, Project Runway AND the new FX series Black.White. tonight! Yeah!
