Football and Nausia

The ads introduced these days have reflected upon me a bit. Maybe you'll feel like hearing me out on this one.
Okay, so there are jobs that take data on who watches certain programs. When you see an ad, and it's a younger guy who looks kinda grungy, that was put there for a reason. These ad agencies wouldn't do an old man, no, that doesn't profit as much as the typical viewer. Viewers need to relate to what's on the screen, and if they don't do that, advertising loses some of its momentum.
So, when I see these ads, I want to scream. I want to destroy. I want to change that which I watch, involving either the removal of my eyes (or everyone's) or other forms of destruction to alter this demand for pointless consumerism.
Speaking of pointlessness, why do people like football? It's a game. Those athletes? They're playing a game. Language is very important here because I hear all forms of rich thinking words when we describe the grid iron. George already did a great skit on this topic, but I feel that I should be hammering these points a little more. Why do we spend extra money a month just to get MORE and MORE channels to watch the SAME game? I never understood that. Why not just everyone play football and watch the productive aspect of society die out?
Oh Steven, it's because it unites us as a people.
Wrong.
It just divides us even more. Oh, you're a Hawks fan? Well I'm a Taurus fan, and my horns could kick your scrawny feathered ass! Who the fuck cares, huh? It's not like YOUR ass is out there in the freezing rain, trying to hand off a wad of pig skin. Fuckin' A, where does this group mentality come from? How could you possibly conceive the idea that you are part of your team by being a fan? Oh, that's right, you didn't actually think it. You were told it. You were instructed to by whomever controls your petty life.
So this collective absent-mindedness is really more of a syndrome than a typical behavior. I would argue these are horrible ways of spending your time, but who am I to say? I know tons of people who think my lifestyle is incredibly boring. But it suits me. I make these choices, and I suppose you do too, you mindless fan.
I'm not giving you any credit right now. We have some similarities, but I still see a profound difference between the two of us.
That difference being: you like action, I like the lack thereof.
