Title: No Smiles in Photographs

Summary: Zexion hates photographs.
A/N: um... less of a favorite for me than the others.
When Zexion is photographed, he isn’t smiling while Demyx squeals “cheese,” nor is he frowing. It is a rare occasion for Zexion to smile at all, let only for a simple word like “cheese.” Some people say that every time your picture is taken a part of your soul is locked away. Xigbar’s theory was that Zexion was someone who believed this. When questioned as to why, Xigbar merely shrugged, having no good response. Zexion must have had a lot of his soul stolen by pictures when he was Ienzo because he really doesn’t like pictures now.
Zexion doesn’t like pictures because they show you sadness when you’re happy and happiness when you’re sad. Instead of going through the trouble of dealing with that later on, Zexion is stoic in his photographs, even if Demyx pays him to smile and asks with a pretty please. Zexion doesn’t want to see smiles when he frowns or frowns when he smiles.
Demyx says Zexion has a depressing outlook on photography, and that one is just trying to capture the moment with pictures. To this Zexion replies that he has his reasons and that the boy should stop assuming things. They would argue about this for about five minutes, and then it would just fade into silence. They never argued for long about anything and even a few seconds later, they made the perfect picture of happiness, simply talking and smiling, with a spark of something going between. Now if only someone had a camera to capture them.
