You know you live in a bubble town when...Youtube, Romeo et Juliette

Aug 18, 2010 12:24

...You drive around the city looking for a parking meter that uses coins and not a credit card.  (and going to the city is a big deal)
...You give up the search for a coin meter and stare at the credit card meter confusedly for fifteen minutes.
...You fall off the roof of your house and everyone knows about it.
...You turn the stove on and friends call you at that second wondering if you're sick. (me-"CAN'T A GIRL MAKE SOME PANCAKES?!"  Friend Gbo-"Not without the CDC being notified")
...The first time you ever saw a taxi in your town was two years ago...and you've only seen five since then
...You can spot "foreigners" a mile away, whilst driving by at a speed of 45 mph
...Weed is the worst paraphernalia in high school
...everybody knows where each other is going for college (or year leaves or what military branch or organization causes)
...you go to a movie theater 45 minutes away and realize the one in town can fit three times into the lobby of this palace of a theater
So many fails, so little time...

Anyways, I had to go through my favorites list because of all the Zuka video take downs by Youtube/Hankyuu.  In one way, I was grateful, because it really annoyed me that people were uploading entire musicals, like Phantom, Elisabeth, S Pimp ,Rome at dawn and A-Rex because the company needs money and the actresses need money and uploading the entire thing does not help them at all, (plus that's one of the reasons why this fandom is so great, people have so much respect for their stars that the number of accounts that do this is minimal).  On the other hand, the take down is not exactly what I wanted because there were many clips, not entire musicals, just clips from shows that were taken down, and I think that's going to hurt the fandom a lot.  I would have never been here if some amazing person hadn't put up that clip from A Kiss To the Flames, and I know many who also wouldn't be here, so this is going to have a huge impact if Hankyuu keeps this up.  I definitely think that accounts like Yurina's/aka Tsuki_gumi/ aka Bombalurina18 on youtube, which had just clips, shouldn't have been canceled.

In other news, one of my peeps sent me their dvd collection to hold while they move and guess what one of them was? A French musical production by Gerard Presgurvic, called Romeo et Juliette, de la Haine à l'Amour.  Boy, that was a fluke. So now I know basically what to expect for Hoshi and Yuki versions ^_^ except for some parts which have been changed, like the creation of the Love character and there's no Poet.  It's very well done, but at times it felt very boy band-ish and almost too pop.  And the love triangle with Juliette and Tybalt was a surprise (cough incest cough).  At times, it does kind of detract from the overall storyline with all the "spectacle" parts, like I had to watch the Ball scene like eight times to figure it out, too much flashy dancing XD and Les Rois du Monde, while a very addictive song, just felt like a boyband concert filled with...

"POSING THAT WOULD MAKE TYRA BANKS PROUD" XD FIERCE!!
Until next time!
Oh yeah, and the reports about Hoshi's performance keep rolling in :D hearing great news about Remi!! <3
