"It's just that everything changes so fast," Billy complained. "That's just the way the universe works, sure, but it's a problem."
The man he was talking to said nothing, looking at him with the glazed eyes of someone who had stopped paying attention.
"I mean, it seems like some big world-altering event is always happening. First it's a civil war, then Cap is dead, then the Skrulls invade, then the Avengers have disbanded again, then the Avengers are assembling again..."
The man clenched his jaw, biting back a yawn.
"And now the Young Avengers have been turned to stone just to give an excuse to put Cassie and Vision on yet another new Avengers lineup. Sure, it's nice to have someone acknowledge me as one of the most powerful magic-users on the planet by having me be one of, like, two people who saw the latest crisis coming, but come on."
The man shrugged, as if to say "what can you do?"
"The point is," Billy concluded, "the longer the Young Avengers series stays on hiatus, the harder it's going to be to pick it back up and fit the plans for its next story arc in. Heck, right now there's even the death of the whole team to deal with. How is that going to get fixed for season two? You've got to stop putting us off so that you can work on other projects, man."
Allan Heinberg blinked at that, and almost jumped out of his chair. "That gives me a great idea for a new Wonder Woman story!"
