The aforementioned in an earlier post, Bradley, hosts Thursday nights at Red Buddha. So last Thursday night that’s where one could find Tiny and I socializing and camarader-ing. That’s also where one could find Tiny and I watching ‘The Puppy Bowl’ projected on a 9’ wall outside on the patio, compliments of Bradley and his off-kiln party planning.
This weekend was one of the rare times in Southern California in which it rained. Weather of that variety always makes me more tired than I actually am.
So, for to get us out of the funk that the clouds brought with them, Tiny and I went to the Glendale Galleria Shopping Center and looked for articles of clothing that might be suitable for each of our warm-weathered vacations that are coming up. …well, her’s CAME up, one could say. She left for Orlando this morning. Mine is only a few weeks away and is going to entail traveling to the Dominican Republic with my Mom and sisters.
I learned of this vacation at Christmas time, but it was only ever a hypothetical venture until last week when the local was decided upon and the traveling arrangements were made. My sisters have time off from their respective responsibilities with work and school and my Mom has an itch to sit in the sun. Me? I just have an itch to see them.
Yesterday was very low-key. The clouds were lifting and the pavement was drying so I performed tasks suitable to perform on days of the sort. I went running, I went to the market, I watched a movie, I did some laundry, I cleaned the house, I finished-up writing the verses to a song I’ve been working on.
Last night was Tiny’s last night in town for a week so we went to dinner, us two, and of course, out to Spazz. Trev returned from a weekend in Vegas just in time to go along with so he did.
Due to today being President’s Day, thus a day in which the 9-to-5ers don’t have to work, getting to the door at the Dragonfly was a joke. There were hundreds of people swarming the sidewalk to the point where Jason had to stand on a chair and scream, “EVERYBODY! I’M NOT LETTING ANYONE IN UNTIL TWO LINES ARE FORMED. IF YOU HAVE GIRLS; STAND TO THE LEFT. IF YOU’RE DUDES ONLY; STAND TO THE RIGHT.” My 7-friends and I formed a chain by holding hands and strung ourselves through the masses to the entrance.
I currently am working on 2 hours of sleep. I don’t mind at all though because my going places on work nights makes my workdays seem like less of an obligation. I mean, one would never hear me say, “I can’t go [do something exciting] tonight. I have to work tomorrow.” Because work is what I do so I CAN do ‘something exciting’. And I wouldn’t deny myself of those things. Not at 21.
