Genius Humor
This year's MacArthur Awards, usually called the "genius grants", have been announced, and NPR has an interview with two of the winners on their website.
I missed the segment on Rachel Wilson, a neurobiologist working on the sense of smell, but the segment on Walter Kitundu was really interesting. He's been making hybrid musical instruments that incorporate turntables, and they sound really neat (and the sounds they make are cool). But I really laughed when he referred to his rather experimental method of construction as "trial and terror". Apparently, there have been incidents!
