I don't know Wolves, or Old 97s or Borneo or Mutlu.
Beeswing is always an inspired choice, and it's fun to see different Newman and Decemberists songs than I might have chosen.

Good on you. :)

"Wolves" is kind of the title track for Iron and Wine's CD "The Shepherd's Dog". Old 97s is listed as an alt-country group, I think, but "Dance with Me" is essentially a happy bouncy pop song. Mutlu is a Philadelphia-area artist, sort of soul and R&B, who's first CD was just released in June, I think. I downloaded Firewater's latest release (The Golden Hour), but I haven't really listened to anything off it except "Borneo" yet.

If you ask me my favorite Decemberists or Randy Newman song fifty times, I'm sure I'd give 50 different answers. So hard to choose!

50 different answers indeed...

We Both Go Down Together?
The Sporting Life?

Great Nations of Europe?
In Germany Before the War? (M!)

Thanks! *bows*

XPN really does play some great music - it's about the only station that plays Thompson, Newman, the Decemberists, older 80's alternative, and even some Carter and Grammer on occasion - but depending on the DJ and what's out recently, there can be an amazing amount of stuff I'm not keen on. They're currently having a love affair with a band called Black Kids, whose big first single I can't stand, and they're way fonder of the White Stripes than I am. Anyway, I endure the stuff I don't like to be able to hear the new music I do like.
