Last year I visited the Villa Tugendhat in Brno

Villa Tugendhat is probably the most famous Brno building and made some photos, see here. I couldnt avoid making photos of some other tourists that were visiting the house with me. There are also some pictures of the neigbourhood and what is the most important: there are many pictures of the inside of the house:-)))) because: the house is being repaired currently and is closed. Nobody will see it sooner than after a few years. Here are also my photos of Brno in November 2009, the weather was rather bad, so the photos are quite gloomy.

I have just seen the DVD Trovatore with Jose Cura, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Naef and Villarroel. I cannot say Jose Cura sings here badly as I was afraid after reading some reviews of his performances. I like him here, I really do.
I bought this DVD because firstly Luna is sung by Hvorostovsky I like this music, secondly Luna is sung by Hvorostovsky.
I don´t like the uniform Luna is wearing, it makes him look old. The costumes definitely arent 14th costumes, the aim was (so they say on the "extras") to make it look like risorgimento times. The extras are nice, especially the training of the sword fight of Luna and Manrico, they don´t use swords but the things the sheets of music are lying on them (stands?). they have great fun.
At the end Luna shoots Manrico, then Azucena reveals to him Manrico is his brother and Luna holds dying Manrico in his arms. It is sad she could have saved them both if she had told Luna Manrico was his brother.
I  visualized how it would look like if they did this opera with staging in a South American country and Manrico as a guerilla member:-)))
I thought about a little different approach to Traviata too. Traviata where Giorgio is taking care of Violetta in Alfredo´s absence and some hints of a new sort of (unexpressed) feelings between Violetta and Giorgio in the end of the opera. But only hints.

I listened to the Jelecky aria from the Queen of Spades again and it is as good as the Gremin aria from Onegin, that says something.

I had some technical problems with PC, so I had finally time to watch a few episodes of the second season Trueblood (and i will watch the third season too) and I wondered again how my taste has changed. Why don´t I like Bill more than Eric? Bill is dark, there were times i didnt like blonds, with the almost only one exception of Alan Rickman :-) Who saw the ninth episode of the second season (26th minute or so) doesnt wonder.
Change of taste... I preferred tenors, now it is Hamlet, pas Cavarodossi, Rodrigo, no Carlo.
Eric, not Bill.

il trovatore, veronica villaroel, traviata, true blood, televize, dovolená, onegin, alan rickman, piková dáma, opera, naef, josé cura, opera jinak, moje fotky, dmitri hvorostovsky
