Dr. Mark Geier's License to Practice Suspended

I don't know if anyone here was following this story, but Kathleen Seidel of neurodiversity.com was investigating his practice. For those who don't know, he was injecting autistic boys and at least a few men with Lupron, a drug used to chemically castrate sex offenders*. He diagnosed the boys with "precocious puberty" to justify the medication.

His theory was that there's more testosterone in autistic people's bodies, and this was supposed to treat the autism by eliminating testosterone. I'm sure he could have been slightly less regressive if he'd tried to have it sucked out by leeches.

* Edit to add from indigojo_uk: Lupron isn't used on sex offenders; depo provera is (it reduces sexual desire but is a lot less debilitating than lupron). Lupron is used to shut off hormone production and is mainly used (in men) on prostate cancer patients.
