Aspergers and the McGurk Effect

I was watching a documentary that included a demonstration of the McGurk Effect - you can see a clip of it here:

Basically what is supposed to occur is when the mouth makes a different shape, it's supposed to effect your perception of what sound is being heard. However, throughout both clips I hear Ba, Ba, Ba with not a bit of difference. I have played and re-played with and without my headphones to see if this changes.It doesn't.

I'm wondering if this in some way relates to aspergers? I often have a hard time differentiating between vowel and consonant sounds, which leads to misheard / unclear speech and also to some spelling difficulties.

When you listen to this clip, can you hear the differences in sound?
