The funniest part of it all is that the person who was most offended and hostility-instigating by my asking if there was anyone else on this community who had acquired asperger's-like qualities only *suspects* she's an aspie and could very well be the intolerant NT she hates. I love irony & find irritating hypocrites amusing. Thanks again moderator

Thank you. This place was becoming the trustpects show :P Which on its own, I guess I could handle, but this last post was really just too much. What was the point of it, "haha, I win!"? It's like this poster decided that, because they have deigned to associate their issues with ours, that we automatically are going to be on their side, and revel with them at the antagonism toward one of our own.

Augh I feel like I'm not at all expressing what I mean here. Basically, I just mean to say that the content of this post was disturbing to me, and it was very comforting to see in the comments that something had been done about it. And thanks, for helping keep our community a safe space.

I agree. trustpects was all over everywhere, and it got to be a bit much. (I wanted to help, because it's lonely when the best approximation to what you need is still nowhere near exactly what you need, but after this post, I don't feel like making any more effort in that direction.) That display of schadenfreude does not incline me to like this individual. (Schadenfreude isn't good for me. I'm not saying it's bad for everyone, but it's bad for me.) In fact, this post horrified me.

I'm glad the mods have taken appropriate action. I can't take pleasure in that, so what I'm experiencing about it isn't schadenfreude, but something close to relief.

I always thought of her/him as a helpful and well-established community member...some of my most helpful comments to my posts came from this person.

Scratch that, I apparently mix up a lot of people in this community...but I do still feel she was a well-established member who did not say anything deserving of a ban.

sodzilla's flame war with trustpects had spilled over into sodzilla flaming other community members who weren't doing anything particularly offensive. old_cutter_john informed sodzilla that she was "provisionally" banned, pending discussion with the other mods - that is, he was banning her to prevent her from further flaming while the mods discussed what to do. Before the mods could have this discussion, sodzilla sent old_cutter_john a hostile and abusive private message in which she declared that she no longer wanted to be part of this community anyway. Maybe she was just having a really bad day. If she ever calms down and contacts the mods about returning to the community, we might very well be open to it.

She (sodzilla) was also extremely argumentative with me in another entry, as well as abusive and accusing me of thinking things I don't really think, and twisted my words around so much it was unbelievable, and I don't think she was "angry" then.

And can you break the rules once and delete this stupid post? It makes me very angry...I never liked one damn word that came out of this person's mouth.

One of the reasons we don't like to delete posts is that they serve as a record of what's happened here in the past. For instance, I wouldn't have to be explaining how sodzilla got banned, if trustpects hadn't deleted the post (and attached comments) where all of that went down. The mods don't like this post, either (obviously, since it got the poster banned), but it does serve as a record of what occurred. I'd rather have it here for people to refer back to if necessary (the mods make a lot of decisions based on precedent, so in our discussions among ourselves we do a lot of referring back to posts like this). But personally, I agree with your opinion of both the post and the poster.

I wanted to say THANK YOU for not deleting posts. I reaaaallly hate it when mods do that and almost every community I'm a part of will delete dramallama posts.

I must admit, I partially like it because I like reading drammmaaaz, but also at the same time I don't like to be clueless when people are discussing an issue at the time or even in the future and there's no record of it for me to read.

*sigh* As well? All I noticed was this one guy overreacting to being politely told that some folks on the spectrum didn't appreciate the suggestion that it was common/likely that folks on the spectrum had not been born that way. I thought that guy had stomped off in a huff - hoped that was the end of it. I presume this is him back; not uncommon in folks who announce they are leaving because they've been rejected. Who else got banned, and why?
