I've noticed a trend in my life: I'll start something (new school semester, a job, a hobby) and go 'full steam' on whatever it may be. I do stuff on time, I work hard on whatever tasks are set, I'm punctual. However, without missing a beat, two months down the road I start slacking. If it's school I'd start running late to class and missing homework assignments. With work I tend to start cutting it close (I'm rarely late), not being as productive, etc. With hobbies, I tend to slow down or stop them entirely. There are times in school where I have rallied from the edge and pulled together, and with work it's even easier. But it still remains a problem.
Now, about two months ago I started getting involved in politics, which is one of my greatest passions. I'm currently working on a couple campaigns and trying to keep up with all the opportunities that are opening up. As you might have guessed, I'm hitting that tell-tale period where I start to slow down. Aside from realizing the pattern and doing my best to fight it, I'm at a loss as to why I have these phases of gung-ho work followed by a sudden slide. I've made insane amounts of progress in every other part of my life to the point where I can be independent in most outside-world situations, but organization and executive functioning skills continue to elude me.
Anyone else experience the same up-down pattern? Any tips or advice for dealing with organizational issues?
