Until I was somewhere in my toddler years, I didn't feed myself. I was mobile, but I did not feed myself until I "stole" my brother's bagel that he had left on a counter. Whenever the topic comes up, my elder relations remind me that I would have starved if they hadn't fed me until then.
Is it common enough to be mobile and somewhat verbal, yet not feed oneself until somewhere around age three? One of my (dizygotic) ten month old twin girls also does not self-feed. If you would have left me alone with a bottle when I was a baby, I would not have touched it. The same goes for my daughter.
Edit: I'm asking if this is common enough for people on the autism spectrum, not if this is common for the general human populace.
