Aspie gamers?

A little under two weeks ago I got accepted into the Starcraft 2 beta.  Once getting in, I quickly noticed how much faster the pace of the game went compared to how I usually play.  My favorite RTS games are those like Civ 4, Sins of a Solar Empire, and Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, where the slower pace allows me to easily manage the battles and economy.  However, in games like Starcraft and now the sequel, the pacing is so much faster that I find myself having trouble keeping up.

I'm sure part of it is my gaming skills, but I also have the tendency to get distracted.  Either I'll get so engrossed in managing a battle that I'll neglect my resourcing, expanding, and rebuilding/reinforcing my army, or I'll start training more units to replace the ones I'm losing, only to go back and find that my army was destroyed due to a lack of micromanagement.

Any of you into RTS games have similar stories?  Or just gaming in general?  I'm interested to see if Aspies have a different approach to gaming.
