In case you haven't heard...

I have a dreadful feeling that in the coming weeks autism is going to be in the spot light because of this. A friend of mine attended that school last year, his girl friend attends it this year, and well the mood is autism is to blame for this. Was it a factor? Maybe, no one knows what the motive was for this teenager to act out in this manner though so all judgments should be held off for now in my opinion.

I'm just hoping that I don't have to listen to garbage on the radio and tv about how autism is to blame. Right now there are a good number of students at that high school blaming autism. I understand it is human nature to try to make sense of a senseless act of violence but I just feel like they are placing the blame wrongly on autism. Perhaps in a few days their views will change for the better. I am not expecting that though. When my friend told me about this I just kept repeating to myself "why did he have to be autistic" over and over. I don't know. It shouldn't matter that he was but my friend and the people he knows at that school keep pointing to autism as a serious factor/cause.

I really wish people wouldn't judge the whole of a group based on the actions of a few.
