okay okay, so i'm aware that there's a few of you who really hate the word "retarded" (and various other forms of the word, which i do too, but not enough to not acknowledge that there's a lot of people that use the word in the wrong context or in a hateful way. ANYWAY-) but i wanted to know what you all think of the youtube sensation "Retarded Policeman"?
at first i was kinda annoyed. i thought, shit, another poor guy getting exploited.
and i think that's what a lot of people still think, because they apparently get hate mail all the time.
i just wish there was a way for them to be funny without having to use the word "retarded" in their sketch titles. oh well...
anyway, i saw this sketch, and i wanted to share it with you guys. i thought this was really funny, not necessarily the sketch itself, which is [edited to claify:]pretty funny by it being a play on words, but they of course called it "assburgers" which i know a lot of you/us/whatever have their own jokes about with family or close friends. what makes it even funnier, is that this is someone with down syndrome, making a joke about another disorder's name. i find it very entertainingamusing?. anyway, for those of you who have not seen this, here it is:
..and now i'm thinking about tactfully making light of down syndrome.. you know, just to even out the scale. (i'm half kidding, of course.)
i think it's amusing that someone with down syndrome would poke fun of another disorder's name. obviously, they're ignorant. *shrug*
my mom makes jokes about "assburgers" and i read in "look me in the eye" that he and his brother make light and call it "assburgers". so i thought it would make more people chuckle than it apparently did. my apologies that you don't laugh at what i laugh at.
