Been there once with a clinician who decided that I had bpd because I dared to disagree with her on something. She is no longer counseling anyone.

What I did (and a suggestion) is to forget what they say you got and go with the things that you agree with (in the diagnosis obviously not all of it but I decided to work on the self-esteem stuff ( ... )

When I figured out the AS connection in my life, I went through the entire DSM-IV thing with my therapist, and showed him exactly why I did not have Borderline, and why I felt I had AS. He agreed.

Although to be fair it was not him that gave me the Borderline Diagnosis it was the hospital.

Because of SI, which I had not done in 7 years, then only started because of stress. Then I have stopped again.

It can be frustrating, but research, and a good therapist are key.
